Bravo, John! You are enacting the wisdom of pedagogists like Geoff Mulgan who prescribes the "studio school" as a way of increasing student engagement and learning. You might enjoy his talk on that subject (click the link at his name in this essay of mine):
I watched the TED. I obviously somehow imbibed the ideas of others.
Sadly, it seems that after initial enthusiasm the studio school idea petered out… The daycare paradigm for indoctrination and the sniffing out of all critical thinking has some heavy inertia.
Perhaps this is why social media was invented. That way adult ‘education’ can be mindless too.
