Insight | Evidence Isn't Enough
The story has to arrive first
Every serious communicator eventually builds what feels like an airtight case. The data assembled, the sources peer-reviewed, the argument watertight. Then nothing happens.
This insight from the vault works through why this is the normal outcome rather than the exception. In any domain where the evidence threatens an identity people have already committed to, the mind does not weigh it. It protects the story it has been telling about itself.
The implication is that narrative is the load-bearing structure.
